I have a SBS 2003 PDC with Exchange on my server.

I was wanting to turn it into a Virtual Machine for easier recovery, switching to different server if need be, and backup/testing purposes.

I dont have a ESX VM Converter cd, so I was going to build a new SBS environment on my desktop with VM Workstation.

Then I would format the server, install Linux and VmWorkstation, them move the SBS virtual machine over to the server.

Is VMworkstation reliable to house a SBS with exchange? I know most people run ESX Server but wasnt sure if VMWorkstation would be ok?

Thanks!

If you are running this at your house, it is an ok solution. It is certainly cheap and you wouldnt have to worry about performance or stability. If you intend to run this for in an environment that requires *any* reliability and stability at all, I would look at other solutions.
