Is there a way to run a ProComm Aspect script in the background and still have the ability to use the waitfor commands to interpret screens?

Are you just looking for a way to run Procomm minimized in the background? If so, you can right click on the Procomm Plus shortcut that the install process puts on your desktop, click on the Shortcut tab, and change the Run value to Minimized.

Here's a snippet from my site that another user here ran into (on Win2K I think) a few months ago that may or may not apply to you:

A recent problem I experienced had to do with a capture file not containing all of the expected data if Procomm Plus was started in a minimized state. The workaround for this problem was to start Procomm as a regular window, but include the line "winminimize $PWMAINWIN" at the end of the STARTUP.WAS script. This still causes the Procomm Plus splash screen to appear for a short time, but at least no data will be lost. aspect@aspectscripting.com

Well, no, not exactly. My hope was to find another solution for passing the EXIT code out of ProComm. I though, perhaps, if I could run in the background without displaying the screen to the terminal, then I could possibly just EXIT with a value and it would shut down the ProComm as opposed to the pwexit solution you had suggested earlier. Again, I appreciate the response. Thank You very much.
