Run problem

Hi, pls help me if U can...
I have win XP but i think that itsnt necessary information.
When I instaled mysql at my home computer everything was OK. When I instaled mysql here in work, everything was OK but now, after reinstall of XP I dont know why, mysql dont work.
Im installing the mysql always some way..
The problem is that if I start winmsqladmin the mysql try start and the light is green and after about 5 seconds its turn to red. In the parts databases,variables,process,report and server is nothing...
I reinstaled it so many times and try more modification and use two or three versions of mysql, but on this computer its no work.

look in the log for errors - without the error message there are a lot of possibilities why it's not running

I look at mysql.err.. this is little bit shorter than whole file.

Yeah, I try and try and now server running..
I removed Mysql directory and everything in registry with key mysql. After that I instaled again Mysql. I hope but wasnt good. In the manual I found line... \mysql\bin\mysqld-max --standalone. After that I looked at the directory data and there was *.err file. And there I see that everything is allright runned. Next step a took file my-large.cnf and removed it to c:\ and rename to my.cnf
After that its asked me for pass and logname...
I tried more ways how install mysql but never mysql asked me again for pass and log...
