Here is my question. I am running mercator 7.5. I have a map with one input and two outputs cards. My first output is creating a simple text file that I want to use in my second map that I am kicking off in the second output card using the run function. What is happening is the file is not being created fast enough before mercator kicks off my run map in the second card. Is there a way to pause or delay the run map for a few seconds to give it time to create my text file?

No, but you can use commit by card in the first output card. However, all this does is increase the I/O load on the machine, why not pass the data to the run map in memory, in an input override? Unless the file size is huge, this is much more efficient.

Use ECHOIN(1,outputcard1)assuming the data is to be passed to input card 1 of the run map.

I can't seem to get this to work. I want to use the output from card 1 as my input for card 5 of the run map that I am kicking off in output card 2 of the first map.

I got it to work. I had to use the rule with the sizing method and it worked like a charm. Thanks for all the reponses.

ECHOIN is easier to mailtain. Post your rule and I'll convert it.
