Hi outthere,

I'm using Impromptu 5.0 Administrator to run my reports and get xls-files exported to show the users what they'v done. ;-)
I'd like to do this at nights and via a Batch-process in my own jobcontrol.
Is this possible with Impromptu? What file(s) do I have to call within my jobcontrol? Do I have to pay attention to something special?

Thanx alot

1) Do you need formatted Excel, or just the older query row export? If the former, see the SendKeys example via a Keyword Search.

2) Do your reports contain prompts?

It looks like a macro is your best bet. There are examples available via the Keyword Search that can help you. If your report contains prompts, it may be more involved. Let me know and I'll see if I can provide you some help.

Hope this helps,

I'm not quite sure what the difference between your two ways is. I just need the same result I get when I run the Export-methode in a macro using the "x_excel.flt"-'template'.

I already use a macro to export the data to *.xls, but the pproblem is that Impromptu does show up in the foreground and my boss doesn't want to see it at all.

Do you hav any idea to do so?

That is the query-level Excel export, and you are running it fine. On the other issue:

Make Impromptu invisible as it runs with the .Visible method, as in:

objImpApp.Visible False

Check out the macro help on the method for more information.

Hope this helps,

Dave Griffin
