I'm trying to figure out a way to configure the TermServ so that when users browse the internet, open links, etc, it opens internet explorer on the local machine instead of the server.

Is there somewhere I can set this, or is there some way I can do this programmatically (Redirect calls to the server IE app to a program that activates IE on the user's local machine)?

this can't be done. Users can have an active connection to a terminal server... and outside of this connection launch internet explorer locally on their own machine

Although I haven't tried this myself I am guessing you can attempt the following;

1. Change the IE shorcut in TS to point to a script/batch file that will run Sysinternals' PSEXEC tool and have it execute IE on the users machine

This will prob work if you have administrative access to the user's machine

It's a bit kludgy but that's about as good as it gets.
