Is there a way to perform an event right before the screensaver starts everytime?

I only ask because I am working with an automated system, and everytime the automated system goes down, the only way we can tell that the system is down is when the screensaver pops on. I just wanted to know if it would be possible to automatically send and email right before the screensaver comes on, so that we are informed of the automation going down.

Thanks for all your help.

Scheduled Tasks has a scheduling option based on idle time. This is the same process monitored for the screen saver.

So if you screen saver is set to an idle time activation of twenty minutes, use Scheduled Tasks to set an event that would occur with idle time of 21 minutes.

Maybe the idle time should be 19 minutes in "bcastner's" example? Does a running screensaver count as being idle to the Task Scheduler?

Some other things that you might be able to do something with?
