I have a database and depending on which department runs the database I want a differant macros to run. For example if a report user ran the database it would run the macro that opened the reports form, if an update user ran the database the macro to update tables would be run, etc etc.

Any ideas

If the various department users are assigned to groups withing the Windows 2000 environment you could use VBA to capture this information and run a different start-up routine based on the variable.

I think this would probably involve an API call. However, an alternative would be user-level privileges and based on this you could again have different objects availabe etc.
