Run crystal report without installing CR9 software

Is there a way I can run a crystal report on a client's PC without having to install CR9. I have installed the crystal runtime but, when I try to excecute the report, it does not know what type of file the report is and it prompts with "open with" box. Thanks.

What was the source of your Crystal Runtime, and how did you do so?

I ran the "Crystal Runtime Installation.msi" executable and installed the VB active X controls.

And you wrote an application for viewing as well?

Crystal didn't supply a stand alone viewer for CR 9, the invcluded distributed deployment stopped after CR 8.5.

Take a look at using a 3rd party viewer as referenced above, or you'll find sample code there as well.
