Hello,

I created a database with a macro that I want to run automatically everyday at 2 a.m., so to run that macro I use the scheduled tasks program. But the problem is that the computer where I what the macro to run only have the access compiler and I cannot make the macro to run in that computer.

The line that I put in the scheduled tasks is:

"C:\(....)\msaccess.exe" "C:\(...)\hghdsg.mdb" /x macro1

This line works in a computer with the complete version of the access. If anyone have an idea I would appreciate very much your help.

Thanks

Andre

You will need the full version of Access to do what you are attempting to do. Robert Berman

Hi Thornmastr,

Anyway thanks for your help. But do you know any way to setup a macro to run everyday at the same time on a computer with the access compiler, any ideas are very welcome. Thanks

Andre

Andre,

I don’t think I would do this in Access.

My preference would be a Basic program, very small executable size, that will do what your Macro does. Then use your Operating Systems scheduler process to start the program at whatever time you wish.

Hi Thormastr,

Thanks for your tip, could you tell me what program should I use to create and run the macro.

Thanks,

Andre

Even in an mde file, the autoexec still runs, doesn't it? Could the scheduler call a different mde file that contains only the macro to be run as the autoexec?

Optional: have the autoexec in the regular program call a module to check the time. If it is between 2:00 am and 2:05 am, run the other macro. Of course, this will best work if you don't normally have people logging in at 2 am.

I haven't done much with mde's, so my advice may be completely incorrect.
