Hi,

I used run as (administrator) to execute disk cleanup (or program) and a popup message shown.
"The referenced account is currently locked out and may not be logged on to"

I can logon to administrator without problem (the account is not locked).

Please advise.

What operating system is this, is it XP Home per chance?

Are you referring to the Built-in Administrator or an Administrative user account?

To see if any user accounts are disabled, look at the Properties of the various users listed in Local Users and Groups in the Computer Management Snap-in,

linney,

Thank you for your reply.

I am using Windows XP prof. and run as local administrator.

I can logon as local administrator but cannot run as local administrator.

Please advise.

With regards,

Do you use passwords when you login?

Does the Built-in Administrator have a password, can you use the "Run As" command as the Built-in Administrator?

Make sure the basics are in place and the appropriate Services are running?
