Anyone got any advice on the best method to spec a new NT Server 4 / Exchange 5.5 Enterprise server? I will be sizing it to cater for 100 users.

Thanks.

Processors are barely touched, so anything these days is quick enough.

Initially 100MB per person, rising to 500MB per person depending on the type of organisation. (Hard disk).

RAM - NT 64MB, 2000 128MB. Plus 64MB for Exchange 5.5, 128MB for Exchange 2000. Plus 4MB per user.

For your situation, I would recommend, P III 800 or better (dual is good). Hardware RAID array with at least 20GB useable and 512MB RAM. Set it up as a BDC to gain access to SAM but not process logons. Point it at the DHCP, DNS, WINS server.

Hope this helps.
