Rules Not Notifying

I created a new rule which routes e-mail to a new folder in my cabinet. I've noticed when the new e-mail arrives, I am not notified. You are only notified when mail goes to the mailbox. Does anyone know how to get notify to alert you when you have a new e-mail in a folder? Any help is appreciated.

Right-click the "Notify" icon in your system tray and click "Options". On the "General" tab, you can select which folders that Notify will check for new mail.

I did that, but no notification. Any other ideas? An envelope appears next to the folder indicating there is new message, but that's it.
