Rules error after mailbox migration

We did an EXmerge on our entire Exchange database (don't ask) and are having some lingering issues after the fact, some we expected, others still baffling us.

The particular problem we are having with rules with some users, including my own mailbox, is that the ghosts of my message rules, which I expected to lose altogether, are causing me great frustration. Every time I start Outlook or attempt to go into the Rules Wizard I get the following error:

"There was an error reading the rules from the server. The format of the server rules was not recognized."

These were server side rules and when I go into the rules wizard it shows none in the dialog box as I had deleted them all. They are still quite present on the server though as they continue to give me errors when attempting to apply themselves to my incoming mail and sort to folders that technically no longer exist.

How can I remove/edit the rules from the server if they don't show up on the client side?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I am using Outlook XP and running Exchange 5.5.

To anyone reading this I figured it out.

Using a tool on the Exchange Server CD called Mdbvu32.exe I was able to directly manipulate and view the objects contained within my message store. From there I was able to pick out the rule objects that were causing the problem and delete them.

For those interested you can reference Technet document Q320022 to find the steps to do what I did. Looks like you might be able to use this for other interesting information gleening of the inner workings of Exchange.
