We did an EXmerge on our entire Exchange database (don't ask) and are having some lingering issues after the fact, some we expected, others still baffling us.
The particular problem we are having with rules with some users, including my own mailbox, is that the ghosts of my message rules, which I expected to lose altogether, are causing me great frustration. Every time I start Outlook or attempt to go into the Rules Wizard I get the following error:
"There was an error reading the rules from the server. The format of the server rules was not recognized."
These were server side rules and when I go into the rules wizard it shows none in the dialog box as I had deleted them all. They are still quite present on the server though as they continue to give me errors when attempting to apply themselves to my incoming mail and sort to folders that technically no longer exist.
How can I remove/edit the rules from the server if they don't show up on the client side?
Any help would be much appreciated.
I am using Outlook XP and running Exchange 5.5.
