I'm Dutch and I use a "Dutch" version of OUTLOOK 2000 (9.0.0.2711) so apologize for some wrong translated ITEMS in this thread.
I hope you understand what I mean.

I already checked some old threadsbut I couldn't find an answer:
thread605-619404
thread605-485807

I work from home so I have 2 mailboxes (one personal mailbox and the other is my work mailbox)
To divide up my In-comming mail I made a rule "Checks messages after receiving" + "If they are received by the work-account" + "move the message to folder Post-IN of my work-account"
This is RULE 1

So far so good , works perfect :)

For sending messages I use Microsoft Word (I checked checkbox "Use Microsoft Word for treat e-mail messages) [Tools, Options, E-maildivision/E-mailassign???]
Now when I start a new message: Word will start. Then I click "options"-button (probably this is the same "options"-button in a new outlook message even if you don't use Word)

Then the message-options Window appears and at the bottom of the part "delivery-options" I can choose: Message send with: WORK-account
After closing the message-options Window my mail will send by my WORK-account.

So far so good 2, works perfect 2 :)

But now my QUESTION :

All the mail I send (from the personal mailbox as weel as my work mailbox) is saved in the folder "sens-items from my personal mailbox".

I tried to make a rule (RULE 2) for out-going mail so that all the outgoing mail from my work mailbox will be saved in the "sens-items from my work mailbox", but that is NOT possible !!
This because:

- First I choose "Checks messages after sending.
- But then I MISS the option "If they are send by the work-account" ..................

Can somebody help me PLEASE with RULE 2!!!!!! Is it possible ??????

I thought of a sort of workaround like this (but it's complicated):

- First I have to change RULE 1:
--> I add "Except for e-mail send from "my own Work-email address"

- I made a new Rule (RULE 3): "Move new messages from someone"
--> Then I can choose my own "Work e-mail address" in the option "mail from"
--> And I can choose the folder "sent Items" in the option "move the message to"

- Now if I send a BCC to myself (work e-mail address) I get a copy in the right "send items folder from my work".

But I also have the original message in the wrong (personal) send-items folder. And that's not what I want.
(by the way: The condition that I'm forced to send myself a BCC is complicated).

but that's not really what I want, I want just a good RULE 2 !!!!

Ideas ??

Mail rules are only applied to Inbox by default. You can create new rules (like 'from work account move to other folder') and manually apply it to other folders like 'sent items'. So, in short, what you want can't really be done automatically. It can be done quite easily with 1 rule, but must be applied manually to your sent items.

i have a similar situation - business & personal emails.

i tried what you want to do and gave up. instead i use Outlook for business and Outlook Express for personal.

contacts & address books for both can be used.
