I sent someone a message with an RTF file attached. The relevant MIME header is:
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="The Microsoft Way.rtf"
The recipient couldn't understand the attachment and her reply showed that her email client (Notes - version not specified) had treated it as inline text. It seems that Notes had inferred from the text type ASCII that it was was plain text and had ignored the Disposition.
Is this a known Notes problem? Other email clients decode the attachment correctly.
