RT Error 1177 - Could not open "http://sharepoint..."

Hi there

I manage a sub-site within my company's main SharePoint site. I have approx 40 users accessing my section, of which 4 users receive the following message whenever they try & open a document from the site:

Could not open "

http://sharepoint/etc

etc etc.doc"

Once "OK" is pressed, they then get:

Run-time error 1177 - The document name or path is invalid.

However, the other 36 users can happily open the file. The majority of users have exactly the same SharePoint & also network permissions set up.

I have found the following link & passed it onto my Tech Services dept to check:

However, despite them promising me faithfully that they have done this, my 4 users continue to get the problem.

All 40 users are running Windows XP & Office 2003 SP2.

Any suggestions very gratefully received!!!
