Keep showing up in /var/adm/messages.
What causes it and how do I fix it .
Thanks

I have rsync running. and various cron jobs for it.
How do I determine which one is causing this error.
Thanks,
Saachi

probably the best place to start is by checking the log and comparing the time of the error to the time at which kicks it off. If you're starting multiple scripts at once, maybe stagger them to make it easier to pinpoint. There isn't a magic trick, it's really process of elimination for something like this. --

The error message means that it's trying to look up a host name using the IP address, so when you've gone through Andy's process of elimination to figure out which job is producing the error message, check that both hosts are able to look each other up using nslookup 1.2.3.4, for example. Or check that they're both in each others' /etc/hosts files if you're not using DNS. Annihilannic.
