For the past couple of days when I come in I have a rsh cold backup running. How do I find what is calling this remote shell and how do I stop it. Please help this is very annoying.

As root, do a "crontab -l". Look for anything in there doing a cold backup, or perhaps using "at" to schedule it.

Bill.

Try using [tt]ps -eo pid,ppid,args[/tt] to find your command and its parent (and maybe its grandparent).

I hope it works...
