Hello Everybody
I am using RSH to connect to my HP UNIX machine.
I need to see a listing of my unix files from my NT machine using the rsh utility.

Firstly my etc/hosts file in the unix machine is having my NT box's IP and hostname.

Secondly I created a .rhosts file in my home directory and added my NT box's info to it.

In NT workstation in the command prompt
C:>rsh hostname and other options doesn't work

and saying connection refused.
Am I going in the proper way and If not point me the steps to achieve remote shell connection.

Thanks
Murugs

Hello !

One thing about the .rhosts make sure to chmod it 744.
Well its probably not the entire solution but hopefully a step closer :)

Wow!
I had no idea that rsh (and rcp) exists in NT system. I was in deep trouble when trying to solve some things with ftp...
I just tried to run rsh as an user without password and it worked ok. Hope you get it working too.
Thanks a lot!
