RSA authentication on secure shell

hi gurus
i have a linux server7 and want to configure
ssh to use RSA Authentication but bull shit!
after a try of 4 months i could not do that
sshd still using passwd auth. but not using RSA
for this purpose.
Unfortunaely i dont have to Linux servers for
testing so i am using ssh command on the same linux
server on which sshd is running for testing
Can anybody tell me the right steps
Noone on Aix forum help me...
