how do i checked that the load is equally distributed among the processors in my system?

Well you could use :

sar -P ALL 5 5

This will show CPU load per processor. The figures should be relatively similar for each processor. In the past where this was not even I have used the bindprocessor command to lock an application to a processor.

just download the freeware-product "nmon" from internet
and install it. You will get a nice tool for performance
