Hi,

I am experiencing a real problem connecting the rs232c port to the pc (com) port.It seems that no data is coming out the rs232c port.It is configured to let the data out .I think the problem is with the cable.I am currently using a 25 pin nullmodem adapter, a 25 to 9 pin converter and a straight serial cable. It works on other systems except this one..

Please advise,

Anil

thx but i have tried all those settings.I changed them in the pbx and also in the com port settings.I was just wondering is the null modem adapter ok?
it should because it works with other pbx systems?

Regards

are you using hyperterminal ,is smdr printing shut off in pbx programing for some strange reason? I use a plain modem cable and null modem adapter from radio shack works fine as far as that cable
working on other systems don't assume that it is going to work on the td .also there is always make up the cable
from the manual that is sure to work. Are you in the states?
what kind of software are you using to program the system?

Dear cwc3,

Smdr printing is on according to the main phone menu .I also tried a plain modem cable and null modem adapter .I am in Surinam. It is stated in the manual that hyperterminal is not able to connect to the pbx.So i downloaded programmator for panasonic kx td1232.Still no effect. So i am now busy making the cable according to the pinouts in the manual.Any Advise?

if you can get your hands on field configuirable rj-45 to db-9 and rj to db-25 adapters makes pinning that cable a snap!!

I couldn,t find the adapters.so i used a 25 pin serial jumper box.I soldered everything according to the pinout in the manual .Then i connected a 25 serial to a db 9 serial adapter and a straight serial cable. The jumper box is just a 25 to 25 serial pin with user configurable jumpers(cables).Still nothing....

wow Anil are you 100 percent sure that your comm port is working on your pc or laptop? maybe the smdr port is shot
on the ksu?

these are the pinouts for a cable for the kxtd you can use a piece of cat 5 cable

25 pin connector to 9 pin connector
here are the cable pinouts
25pin............9 pin
pin 1 ...unused... pin 1unused
pin 2 ...goes to ..pin 2 on 9 pin
pin 3 ...goes to ..pin 3 on 9 pin
pin 4 ...goes to ..pin 8 on 9 pin
pin 5 ...goes to ..pin 7 on 9 pin
pin 6 ...goes to ..pin 4 on 9 pin
pin 7 ...goes to ..pin 5 on 9 pin
pin 20 ..goes to ..pin 6 on 9 pin

also use hypertermina then set with above settings and switch on the printer option on the kxtd you can then rule out a software issue

Thx Peter and cwc3...

I managed to make the cable as told and it is the same pinout as is written in the manual...I tested the cable if the pins are correctly connected and acording to the universal meter (with ohm resistance) it should be ok.I checked he phone configuration and all the settings are the same as the com port.Unfortunately with no succes......It looks like there is really no data coming out of the pbx port(rs232c).

Maybe it is handy to say that the smdr data will be used for accounting.I am using the epi version of roommaster and everywhere i have installed this system i had no problems..

I really am gratefull for all your replies..

Anil

May be in 800 code of program (SMDR in/out) switched on option (parameter) “off”?

Try to check up the serviceability COM port through TAPI. There are two programs for Panasonic KX-TD on site How soldering the cable you can find on the same site in FAQ.
Blitz TAPI SMDR for KX-TD 1232 allows to form SMDR in TDA 200 – C format.
Besides, the time when the call was made points in seconds not in minutes as standard SMDR KX-TD.

Wow, I tried everything and still no luck.I tried another pc (with another com port) still no succes.I think probably there is something wrong with the port on the pbx......Strange thing are happening over here.I just installed the same call logging software somewhere elde and everything turned out fine.

Regards

A)consider powering down the system if you have not already
and starting over i am assuming you have tried all speeds
b) reint and start from scratch

cwc3,

I already tried that option. With nom succes..

hi,

i tried several solution but none was succesfull.i even tried with winwedge....A port analyzer and still no data coming out .....So teh end conclusion is

hi, question,

Would a firmware update resolve the problem ?And would the settings ( call settings, ext etc) be deleted from the system?
