RS/6000 43P 140 SMS/boot diskette

Hello.

I need a copy of the SMS boot diskette for a 43P 140 machine... I've been looking at

http://www.rs6000.ibm.com

but can't find it.

Can anyone help me?

The 43P 140 does not need a SMS diskette, are you sure it is not a 100 or 133, post up the model number.

Your 7248 43P is either a 100,120 or 132 and you need to create an SMS disk. I have one at home so have done this many times.

Go to:

http://www.rs6000.ibm.com/support/micro/download.html

Search for 7248.

Download the 1.11 system firmware update in DOS format.

When completed cd into the directory and execute the .exe file, password **RS/6000** This will create a new directory in PWD called 43P-133.

Insert a new floppy disk and open up a DOS window, cd into the 43P directory, SMS107.exe should be in this directory:

makesms d:

Where d: is the drive you downloaded it to, this of course may be different.

That is it you now have your SMS disk.
