RS 2005 error after power outage

After a power outage I cannot get Reporting Services to start. SQL is running fine on the same server but I get this error in RS:

Client found response content type of 'text/html; charset=utf-8', but expected 'text/xml'.

I have found many people with this problem but it is with new installations. This was working yesterday. Thanks for your help.

Somehow the power failure we had last night screwed up the physical folder permissions for the virtual directories. It was fixed by removing then re-adding the required SQL groups to the folder permissions, then restarted the reporting services service and IIS.
