rpm.bin

I just downloaded the java runtime environment.
Instead of a typical rpm file I got an rpm file ending with .bin.
I know the command to run an rpm install (rpm -ivh filename)but with this added extension it will not work.

What do I have to do to this .bin?

Turn on execute permission:

chmod o+x <whatever you downloaded>

then
