Hello everyone:
We have a new app that is running on a SQL DB. We also have an AS400 720e that will be 'de-commisioned' pretty soon. To me, thats a waste not only, I have many years of RPG programming but also I dont feel so comfortable (yet) with the idea of keeping the corporate data on a Wintel platform. I've been looking around for a utility that converts SQL DB to the AS400 DB2 so I can do all my programming on the AS400. My 400 can also be my file backup if I can setup the convertion every night.

Does anybody know if this is in existence?

Thank you and Happy New Year everyone...

victora,

Have you looked into any of the data replication packages available? I beleive there are some that will allow real-time updates as well as scheduled batch updates. There are some entries that you can explore when you do a Google search for "iSeries Data Replication" or "iSeries Data Mirroring"

Hope this helps.
