rpcmap failing to start

rpcmap is failing to start during boot up. I don't know what to do but everything is working alright.

Did you check the system log file /var/log/messages?

I have checked the /var/log/messages file but there was nothing in connection with the rpcmap. Anyway what is it and what does it save.

Did you configure Network Informatio System for Linux server ?
You can use # rpcinfo -p ip address host to check it.
You also can check ypserv and portmap services.
If you already configured NIS for Linux.
