RPC_call_failed

My network uses only TCP/IP across slow WAN links. All Windows nt servers with sp6a. My problem is that when SAM syncronization is occuring between my PDC and BDC I get RPC_called_failed errors. Then once RPC resets itself, the sync starts all over again. Thus, causing an infinite loop of syncronization with never completes. Has anyone else experienced this? Forunately, this is only happening at one remote location. I have Completely rebuilt the OS and still experience this problem. Connectivity is not that bad b/t locations with average ping sessions of about 100ms.
