I have configured and double checked all steps outlined by Microsoft to enable Outlook syncronisation with Exchange 2003 over HTTP (see )

However, my final test with RPCDump that verifies Exchange server 2003 port configuration fails - see this link for test outline:

the error that I am getting is this:

Querying Endpoint Mapper Database...
RpcMgmtEpEltInqNext:(Access is denied. ).

RPCDump failed after 1 seconds

------------------
I have seen couple of articles on this error on various websites that suggest problem may be related to Sharepoint - which I don't have installed.

In my setup I have only Exchange back end with AD, Global Catalogue and so forth on it. There is no ISA installed and SSL port 443 on firewall is open (not that it matters at this stage).

Any ideas of what this problem may be?

Is ISA server essential for RPC over HTTP installation? Can it be done without?
