Wonder if anyone has seen a similar issue.

I have about 7 users reporting this issue so far, I think it's probably more wide spread but it's one of those issues that is probably easier to work around then call the help desk.

Only been working from the Client end so far, it happened around the same time as a PC refresh was going on and a new image was released. So we suspected it was in the client end at first.

When clicking Address Book, TO, CC Outlook will hang.

Deleting the .OST will fix the issue for a little while.

Office diags shows no issues.

Creating new profile, (same results as deleting .OST)

Uninstalled(Using REVO to clean reg entries)/Re-installing Office (Same as deleting .OST)

Re-Imaged (Same as deleting OST)

Only happens when using RPC over HTTP, works fine when on LAN or VPN.

Network Info:
Server: Win2008-R2/Exchange 2010 Sp3
Clients: Win7 Office 2007/2010 (On Slow/On Fast Disabled // Basic Auth.)

Thank you,

KB

Thank you for the reply, and I'm sorry about the delay.

There are no issues with RPC over HTTP/s internally.

Thanks,

KBrooks

Meant to add in the last post that OWA is working correctly for clients.

So it only works slowly over the WAN effectively. Look at AV exclusions on the CAS and the DC. Increase the diagnostics on the address book service on the CAS.
