One of our users is editing a table and she noticed that it skips from row 9 to row 11. She is trying to insert a new row and call it 10 but it will not save. Any ideas?

What is your meaning of a row number ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

The record number. It skips from 9 to 11 and it wont let her save new records.

the auto number won't skip a number, unless it's set to random. The only way it would 'skip' is because there was a record enter that was assigned 10, but it was then deleted. Access won't assign that number out again.

The record number
???

We have a field called "#" and it has a sequential number for each recordd i.e. 1,2,3,4,5. Somehow the data in the "#" field for record #10 is misplaced and when she tries to recreate the record it doesnt save.

So, seems that you're speaking about an AutoNumber.
An AutoNumber field should have no other meaning than being unique.
Don't expect to keep a sequential range of numbers without gaps with such animal.

Just a test: start create a new record and press the escape key, do it again, what happen ?
