Help! I am creating a report, and simply put, I want a line number in front of each line. The report lists standings in a pool, so their position is not stored in the database. It seems simple and it would be "rownum" in Oracle....surely there is a simple way to do this in Access??

Create a new Text Box in the Detail Section of your report. Place it at the far left and delete the label. Set the Control Source property to =1 . Set the Text Box Running Sum property to "Over All". This text box will now give you a numeric counting of the records in the detail section.

Good luck with your project.

Argh35: Glad to help but both of us is just me. I posted twice for you.
