Is there a way to get a "real time" sequential numbering of each row in a query?

What I want to end up with is to have each row of output that a query produces numbered from one to whatever so that if the select criteria of the query changes the rows are renumbered correctly.

Why do you need the numbers anyway?

If the query is going to be used in a report then it's easy - just add a field to the query such as LineNumber:1 then in the report add the LineNumber field and change its Running Sum property to Over All

If it's required for a form then it's a little more difficult, but not impossible. If this is the case post a reply with some detail about how you want to use the form, and I'll send more info.
