Hi,

Does anybody know in if having row level locking enabled on a table would increase the amount of information logged in the transaction log during a transaction (i.e. more than it would if Row level locking was not on)

If so can anyone explain why ?

Thanks,
Matt

Tip to improve Sybase DB performance...

Sybase 11.9 introduced row-level locking for the first time in Sybase. Unfortunately, this is NOT the default setting AND it must be set for each table individually. Without this feature turned on, you are using page-level locking, which can easily escalate to a full table lock when querying large amounts of data. This has a HUGE impact on performance.
