How do I recreate the routing tables when I change the ip address and defaultrouter of a Solaris box without rebooting.

Do I have to use route add and recreate the routes or is there an easier way ?

nota: if you edit routings/NICs etc, you better connect via LOM/Console!

whenever you configure a NIC you will automatically get an "interface route", which routes all packets to this subnet to this interface;
next add a default route (unfortunately I don't have a Sun here, so please doublecheck the manpage):
route add default ipORnicname
or edit /etc/defaultrouter and stop & start /etc/rc2.d/S69*net* (please doublecheck this, too)

No, just kidding, I quit my last job and went to another company which uses hpux instead. Well, I'm young and I need the money... ;-)
