Good Day to All

I have this bizarre problem with routing on my Nortel ERS-5520

My configuration consists of 4 VLAN's and here they are:

VLAN 2 data vlan's interface ip is 10.2.15.12 255.255.0.0

VLAN 102 voice vlan's interface ip is 10.102.15.1 255.255.0.0

VLAN 202 TLAN vlan's interface ip is 10.202.15.1 255.255.0.0

VLAN 100 trunk vlan's interface ip is 10.101.15.1 255.255.0.0 The trunk is not active yet and ports 47,48 are tagged so no pc's connected

My VLAN 2 is connected to another regular stack of switches and that is attached to my CISCO Ethernet Router, which is the main Gateway for the network.

I enabled routing on each VLAN (ip routing)
configured Default Gateway (10.2.15.1)
Enabled Global routing (ip routing)

Now this what is happening.
From CLI I can ping all VLAN's interfaces and a Default Gateway

Now when I'm at PC attached to VLAN 2 I can ping all VLAN's interfaces, default Gateway (CISCO Router) and PC's

When I go to PC on VLAN 202 I cannot ping any VLAN interface and Default Gateway (CISCO Router)

Also I can not ping anything that is outside of 10.2 network.

I have some PC's located on 10.53 network and those are not reachable at all from any VLAN as well as internet sites.

I'm realy confiused and stumped, any ideas will greately appreciate.

Thanks

On the ERS, do you have a 0.0.0.0 route pointing to the IP of the Cisco router?
Are the ports that are in VLAN 202 members of VLAN 202, with the PVID set to 202?
Are you using a dynamic routing protocol, such as RIP or OSPF? OSPF requires the advanced routing license. You can build static routes as well. If you're not using RIP, you'll need to add static routes on the Cisco for the VLANs that exist on the 5520, with the next hop address being your VLAN 2 address on the 5520.

As biv343 said you would need the following routes in your Cisco router;

10.102.15.1 255.255.0.0 10.2.15.12
10.202.15.1 255.255.0.0 10.2.15.12
10.101.15.1 255.255.0.0 10.2.15.12

This tells your backbone where to send the packets that are destined for those networks. In this case it should be the ERS 5520 interface on VLAN 2 (10.2.15.12).

As mentioned make sure you have a default route (not just for the management interface) in the ERS 5520 pointing toward the Cisco.

Good Luck!

One minor correction. See below. You'll need to put the network address in the Cisco, not the IP of the VLAN on the 5520. I'm sure it was just a typo.

10.102.15.0 255.255.0.0 10.2.15.12
10.202.15.0 255.255.0.0 10.2.15.12
10.101.15.0 255.255.0.0 10.2.15.12

Just want to say thank you to you biv343 and DaddyOfThree for all of your help guys....
Great tips

Cheers!
