I have 4 exchange serve in different offices connected with routing group connectors. They can all route traffic internally fine. They can all send external email fine with one exception.
One of the main Exchange servers continues to try and route internet mail through one of the other connectors. This causes it to fail with, relay not allowed errors.
I have connectors setup like so.
office 1 to office 2 cost 20
office 1 to office 3 cost 20
office 1 to office 4 cost 20
SMTP connector Route using DNS cost 1
Instead of it using the SMTP connector with cost of 1, it's routing internet traffic from Office1 to office 3??
Any ideas?
