Hi All
I am just about to route all of our email traffic through an online AV provider; they have asked me change the mx records with our ISP to point to their servers.
Do I have to change the mx record on our exchange server?

Thanks

There is no such thing as an MX record on your server.
Call your ISP and give them the details that the provider gave you. They will do all the necessary changes.

Change your firewall so that you only accept SMTP (TCP 25) connections from the IP addresses / host names (that the provider has told you)

Are you sending out via the provider ot just receiving from it? If you are sending out you will need to create an SMTP Routing Group Connector and enter the host name that the provider has told you.
