Routing Configuration of CS1000

I have a CS1000s install with 4 gateways.Currently the ELAN,SLAN and TLAN is configure on a flat network.We want to start routing between these network.

How best can this be achieved?

Which LANs in particular do you want to route?

E-LAN
T-LAN
S-LAN

What is your motivation to do this? Are you moving equipment to diverse locations?

The cabinets a distributed now,however it is flat and the VLAN span the entire network.

I would like to route all the VLANS.The reason why this will be done is to provide redundancy for the the primary network like using a WIMAX.

At present there is a fiber run that connect all all the entities

In my enterprise, I have separate a separate V-LAN for E-LAN, T-LAN, S-LAN, and C-LAN. They are routable and I can access all devices from anywhere on the network.

For example:

My T-LAN is vlan 172. The IP addressing scheme is 172.20.x.0 where x is the network number for the location where the equipment is located. All locations use 24-bit subnet masks with a default gateway of 172.20.x.254

My E-LAN is vlan 1172. The IP addressing scheme is 172.21.x.0, with a 24-bit mask, and default gateway of 172.21.x.254.

My S-LAN is vlan 2172. The IP addressing scheme is 172.22.x.0, 24-bit mask, and default gateway similar to above.

This keeps everything separate from the rest of the network while still allowing access to the equipment.

allenmac thanks for you reply.I follow your reply, however what would I need to configure in LD 117 for as it relates to networking.

In LD 117 you define the Host Name of the Call Servers, their E-LAN IP addresses, E-LAN subnet mask, and a default route for unclassed routing that points to your E-LAN gateway.

at this point, your best friend is the Input/Output Administration guide. Open it up to LD 117.

You will need to use the following commands: NEW HOST, CHG MASK , NEW ROUT, ENL ROUT, CHG ELNK ACTIVE, UPDATE DBS

You will also need to address the S-LAN with the IPM and IPR parameters. If the cabinets are distributed, then you may need to create a tunnel for the S-LAN traffic through your network.

I completely understand;but your last point about the S-LAN was what I was concern about;now that I know that I will have to create a tunnel for that network I will sit with the network team to see how we can get it done.

How would you recommend I configure the tunnelling for the S-LAN. the network is fully cisco switches.

Nb the purpose of this execise is to implement dynamic routing

Not sure if it is feasable but i would upgrade first while you still can!
You can mantain support longer and Lose the SLAN...although it can be done it is too sensitive to route I think..All the mistakes they made creating the 1000T were fixed in 1000E....ex-vendor Bias i guess
