Hi All,

Does anyone have an example of how to make and extension from my Master Site (say... extesion 4120) ring at my networked Slave Site (say... extension 5135)?

I finally got my two sites networked via a Point to Point T1, set up the PRI b-channels, udp, centralized voicemail, etc. All calls come into my Master Site. Master Site has extionsion 4100 - 41xx and Slave Site has 5100 - 51xx.

I now have to move a few employees to my new location and they would like to take their extensions with them....just wondering how to accomplish that task.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Mike

All done in NLUDP. Under renumbering, create an extension or range of extensions to send offsite, specify the digits sent, 4 in your case, and the route pattern, start with 1.
Under the tables option, >UDP, set up the first route, first pattern to use the pool of lines assigned to the network, and don't specify any digits to add or delete.
On the far end renumber the extensions to match what you are sending.
Note, the NLUDP handles the extensions and ranges as separate numbers, so, in your example, be sure to renumber master 4120 to something else, so your can use it in the NLUDP number range. On the far side, renmber 5135 to 4120, and that's that. It's pretty slick.

Sweet! Thanks! I will try getting that in today to see if I can get it running. I appreciate the help!

Pepperz, I got everything working (relabeled x5132 to x4132 on Slave, updated the nlupd, etc)...except for one thing. When i call our main office number, an auto-attendant picks up...I used to be able to hit x4132 and it would ring to the Master site phone, but for some reason it doesnt get routed to teh Slave site, it simply jumps out to the Master operator. However, when in the Master location I can dial x4132 and it goes through to the Slave site phone just fine. Any Ideas? Thanks, Mike

LS Disco is already on...any other ideas? Also one additional question: I had x4132 in calling group 780 on the Master switch. When i renumbered 4132 to 7132, the group now has 7132 in it. I would like to put x4132 in that group...how would I accomplish that now? WinSPM has a NonLocal UDP button on it..but it doestn apprear to do anything...maybe I should try it through standard spm?

Check that all of the Voice Mail ports are Unrestricted, FRL of 3, and allowed Trunk to Trunk Transfer. Wouldn't hurt to also allow RCF for them as well.

Pepperz, yes, voicemail is set up for x4132

Tommy, VM Extensions are set to Unrestricted (they were outside restricted), FRL was 3, and added x7172 - x7183 (the VM extensions) to Trunk to Trunk Transfer....but still does it is still bouncing out to Master site operator when trying to dial extension for Slave site.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Mike

Can any other phone "transfer" a call to the remote site?

Yes, all phones internally can transfer and call the extensions that I moved to the other site (i.e. x4132). The only thing that is not working, is when someone dials our main number, the auto attendant picks up. Normally you can directly dial an extension, but when dialing x4132, the call bounces out to the operator instead of going over the point to point T1.

Ah HA.
Switch numbers
Set the lines to the remote as Switch ID 21,and the lines to the main to Switch ID 22.
I'm assuming the offices are a few miles apart.

I dont think it has anything to do with the switch numbers as I had to program them to get the networking accomplished previously. I thought it might have been a restriction problem, but as Tommy recommended, i checked the restrictions on the VM ports..they are all good now, but still getting bounced out to operator...

You can network without switch numbers, and the networking will be just fine, except for the Centralized Voice Mail, in which case, it has a tendency to send calls to the operator, and that sounds a lot like what you are experiencing.

cool, i didnt know that you could do it without the switch numbers...i guess i was taught differently because i had central VM set up. But , in any case, I have the switch numbers on the Point to Point, and it is still failing. I double checked what Tommy mentioned earlier...and I am still having issues. Do you know of anything that I might be overlooking? Im pretty new to programming magix (about 3 weeks experience) so any help you can provide is much appreciated.

BTW, i have been on newsgroups/forums for a long time on the application programming side...and this one is the best I ever came into contact with. Good job all.

Thanks,

Mike

Can you hit the AA, press *t and get to the remote side? I'm assuming the AA/VMS resides on the Main Site.

when hitting *t, i am prompted for extension, i type in x4132 I hear hold music for a couple of seconds and it rings out to the operator...same thing as when i try extension without hitting *t.

Any Idea?

OK, it sounds like the trunks are being restricted for the VMS ports, so they are being treated special. Can you call in to a regular extension preferably an analog extension, and transfer to the remote side?
One side thought, on the Messaging, did you set the VMS ports to be "rotary enabled"?
