Router will not load IOS, and keeps rebooting in a cycle 1

***I am still new to Cisco. Going for my CCENT next week but still trying to learn all I can***

I posted below what happens at start up, to when it reboots and start up again. I think eventually it does go to ROMMON mode, but after 20 cycles or so.

This router was working fine before. I shut it down to move it to another location and when I started it back up, the problem occurred.

The router had 96MB of memory.

You need to add more DRAM or downgrade your IOS.The problem is stated in the log:

Not enough memory in the system for IO memory
IO memory available 4376806 required 3527680

Minue is correct , its right in the bootup message you are trying to load an image that is too large for the installed memory . Find an older version or a current version with less features like ipplus .

That version you are trying to load requires 128 meg dram "minimum" .

I was wondering about the memory. But when it said IO memory available 4376806 required 3527680, I was confused since the available is more than the required.

Is there a way to find out how much RAM you will need based on the size of the ISO .bin file?

I guess what threw me was that the ISO size was something like 20 MB, and in the router, it has 96 MB. After thinking about it, yes.. the IOS does expand which would require more RAM.
