I don't have access to a Cisco Router and was wondering if anyone knew where a good router simulator was on the web. I'd really appreciate it if someone could help!

There is an awesome sim package at: It is a little expensive here but I suggest purchasing it at 50% off at . I don't have access to a lab environment either and am teaching myself. It is an unbelievable package, especially at the price I bought it at! Just look for the CCNA study kit that includes the virtual lab e-trainer.

I went to and did not find a router simulator. Instead, I found a pod of routers that I was able to log into and configure. The labs and end-of-lab tests were excellent!!! I just recommend that you read your Todd Lammle book and your Cisco Press book prior to signing up for a month's worth of login. It's expensive, but worth it. I specifically wanted to know if I was in a simulation or on actual routers. Through some e-mails with the Network Admin, I confirmed that they were real routers. And when I didn't configure the routers (by following the directions exactly), my network paths certainly didn't come up. I actually got more experience trying to figure out why the things didn't go as they should have, i.e., according to the exercises. I was able to analyze, find my mistakes, and had a greater in-depth understanding of the whole router experience. A simulator can't compared to a real network.
