Failed the 640-811 ICND today, 834 bummer.

The router sim question was about 3 routers running RIP and no network connectivity. Found that one of the routers was missing a network command. Added that but it all seemed a bit simple.

Are the router sims that easy?
Once I repaired the problem, should you see the RIP updates and see the connectivity (ping) come up?
Do you have to 'copy run start' or anything to save your work?

Any pointers much appreciated.

Once you've rectified the issue, it is up to you to know the diagnostic commands to execute, on each router if necessary, to verify this is the case.

In your case, I'd have thought strategic use of 'show ip route rip' or 'debug ip rip' or 'debug ip rip database' may have been the key to determine if you'd successfully resolved the problem.

I don't think you have to save your changes (unless it tells you to of course!)

I agree with KiscoKid, I would use "show ip route" and "ping" to confirm that you have fixed it.

The last CCNA exam I did was in 2003 (working through my CCNP now) and from what I remember yes the router sims can be that simple - one of my sims had the wrong subnet mask on an interface's ip address - but things do change, so go the extra mile and confirm it's fixed.
