I have 2 routers. a 1701 router with a t1 wic installed, and a 2611 with a isdn bri wic and a dual ethernet wic.

I am wondering which would work for home use. I want to use the 1700, but it only has 1 fast ethernet port, so I am not sure how I could route correctly. There is a aux port, but I am not sure how to connect it if I need 2 connections - 1 to the cable modem and 1 to the ethernet switch where everything is connected.

Do I need a ethernet card for the 1700 or is there a way I can use whats existing on the 1700.

Thanks, I am a real cisco newbie.

You need an ethernet card. However, The one from the 2610 should work in the 1700---they use the same WIC cards...from there, you could connect the ethernet to the modem and the fast ethernet to your LAN.
