Hi,

I am looking at the config details for a cisco 2611 internet facing router............

I admit that i am not very router savvy, so this may be an obvious question. How do i tell what protocol is in use ?

I am looking at another sample config file from another router in the same environment and there is a line stating 'router ospf 10', but there is nothing like this on the internet facing router config.

Can anyone shed some light ? Does this mean that it is using some kind of default protocol ?

Thanks much

Herc

You can type "show ip route" which will show the routes that the router knows about, and a letter code to indicate by which routing protocol it learned of each one.

On a border router, it's likely to be using just static routing.
