hi all,

Are setup is as follows;

Mdeamon 6.5.8 running on Win 2003 server standard.
Network of about 40 pc's connecting, Netgear FVL328 VPN router as gateway. Routing mail via MX record to public IP, then port forwarding on router to Mail server.

We have a real problem, it appears, with this router. We are getting many winsock errors (10054, 100600). Have been through the MDaemon discussion lists etc... changed/checked router MTU settings etc... If we plug the old SMC router in we have no problems. Very strange.

Just wondering if anyone else has had any similar experiences?

Thanks in advance

Neil

Have you tried updating the firmware on the router? You might want to check to see if there was a fix related to your problem.

You might also want to disable the firewall and vpn features on the router as they might be the problem. (I.O.W. turn all extra features off and then see if it works)

thanks for the reply intelwizrd and sorry for the late reply.

Have the latest firmware installed on the router. The problem has now been resolved. A mix up at the cable company meant that they had the wrong MAC address registered for the router, which in term meant it was not authenticating on their network... which meant problems. Since registering the right MAC address the winsock errors have vanished.. almost.

Many thanks for input again.

Nell
