I am new to Cisco routers and have a quick question.

I know that routers are designed to seperate subnets and therefore router between them, what I am not sure of it whether you can have two routers placed on one subnet.
For example, if I have two routers in the same VLAN with addresses in the same subnet space would that cause a problem?

Thanks !

Not really.. it's one way to load balance or provide alternate gateways. You can do all sorts of things with 2 routers on the same subnet/vlan. We use HSRP grouping and provide load balancing and the host standby of HSRP. Another shop has two and one is for the normall day to day and the second provides the DLSW link to a remote mainframe. The two routers provide a clean break between the two types of data for troubleshooting. SNA is a bit tempermental so they thought it best to split it.
