OK I have a Cable modem Road Runner to be exact and a linksys router but when everything is hooked up correctlly I am not able to access the net but when I called linksys they said they could get in to the router but I just can't get out to the net so they said has to be some kind of firewall but I do not remember intalling any additional firewall and the only firewall on the comp is the one built into XP and its turned off . Any help would be greatly appreciated........Thanks in advance

snogard,

You'll need to provide more information.

- Does the cable operator provide static or dynamic (DHCP) addressing?
- What model Linksys router?
- What OS on the computers?
- How do the computers get their IP addresses? Static? DHCP from the router?
- Can you ping any web sites by name?
- Can you ping any web sites by IP addresses?

On one of the computers, open a command prompt/DOS window and type the following:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Copy the results and paste back here in a post.
