I am on a broadband connection using a wireless router. When I access certain webpages for example amazon.co.uk I get a whistling noise from my router. I am concerned if this could be a trojan. My router is firewalled, I check my PC everyday with AVG and AVG spyware. My PC is firewalled with Windows firewall, and I scan regularly with Windows Defender. All scans say that my PC is clean. Do I need to worry?

Unlikely to be a virus... I traced a whilstling router down to bad electrolytic capacitors. This one did it periodically whether or not it was connected to the Internet or computer. Just for the sheer hell of it I unsoldered and replaced a couple of suspect capacitors, and all was quiet again. As I recall, the capacitors measured a fraction of what their value was supposed to be...

Very good suggestion goaoz, star for you!! Did not think of that but I think I would agree with your post. Does sound like that. Although if its under warranty might want to replace it first before manually working on it.
